Selina has always combined a love of math and art. At age 5, she was the youngest person ever to win the grand prize of Korea's national art competition. Soon after, she began figure skating competitively. Her numerous national awards led her to the U.S. to train and compete. She has been a coach for the World Figure Skating Championships.
In college, Selina searched for ways to combine her creative and analytical sides. When she attended a presentation by P&G at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, she knew brand management was the answer.
At P&G, Selina held numerous line management roles and consistently built business for brands, including Duncan Hines, Jif, Bounty, Charmin, and Always. During her time at P&G, Selina led a successful launch of Bounty with design and pricing innovations that generated +$300 million in profitable sales the first year, driving Bounty to become a $1 billion brand.
She also helped double Charmin/Bounty profit behind a new business strategy, marketing plan and activation, leading to a major capital investment. Most notably, Selina led Always to market share leadership in the U.S., fueled by product and marketing innovations—including a P&G School program for teens, which was expanded to many brands and is still a key marketing program at P&G today.
Selina left P&G to start her own company, Master Communications, to help children become global citizens. She launched several award-winning educational media programs and served educators, librarians and schools.
Selina joined the Jim Stengel Company as a Growth Consultant for many global brands since Stengel's Grow book launch helping craft business purpose, strategy, and activation. In 2014, Selina became the President of Asia Pacific for Cincinnati Consulting Consortium, a single point leader for marketing training for Samsung's global headquarter.
She also has extensive, hands-on experience in licensing, publishing, digital media, and broadcasting. Selina serves as a board member of the Mercantile Library and held numerous advisory roles.
Throughout her career, she managed real estate as sideline. She did not think of herself as a real estate investor until 2017. In 2018, she became a licensed realtor in Ohio and started her real estate career which now includes the management of a number of Senior Living communities.
Selina's higher purpose is to provide education, recognizing that time is the most valuable currency. She aims to illuminate the many paths to achieving various forms of wealth, proving that true prosperity extends far beyond money. Through AFK, she shares educational products, services, and content focused on wealth-building, tax efficiency, health, and personal independence—ultimately empowering others with the freedom of choice.
